Does HCG Work? So far, so good. Menu, Sleep, Energy

HCG Phase 2 week two continuing: It's been a couple of days since I checked in here. Three days ago, I was a 159.8 and now I'm at 157.6. Yesterday's weight loss was only .2 pounds which dropped me to 159.6, but at least the scale moved--I had no complaints. The next day, I dropped today to 158.6 and today, 157.6.  I'm absolutely positive the grilled chicken salad I had eating out was the reason for the very brief stall.(First day of week two)

Here's my typical HCG menu for Phase 2: (I am combining the original HCG diet with the upgraded one, which you can find as the first book listed under HCG Books)

Breakfast--Eggbeaters and Tomato Slices (3)
No snack; not hungry
Lunch--3.0 ounces of grilled chicken (using pam spray and a hot spice mixture); radishes and cucumbers, dipped in ACV. (This Kind---Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar Unfiltered Liquid)
(second choice for lunch veggie is cooked cabbage--you are allowed up to two cups, but I eat almost one: same for spinach amount at dinner if that's what I eat)
No snack unless I get hungry; if so, I have a couple of strawberries and two or three slices of apple. (No skin)
Dinner--For now, I'm sticking with chicken. (Same as lunch) with asparagus, onion and zucchini. ( I eat about one and a half cups) OR Spinach.
Late night snack---(because that's when I tended to eat not good food before the diet)---One medium apple (no skin) and three strawberries.

*Note about lunch---two days a week, I do a salad and fill it with as many veggies as allowed in the correct amount.

The late night snack has been my best change. I used to eat mindlessly worrying about everything and everyone late at night. Now, before bed, I do the fruit and I'm good.

HCG And SLEEP: Also, as for sleep. I used to could never sleep. It would take me hours to chill out.
Since I've been on the HCG diet, I sleep like I did when I was a child. Naturally, deep and I get tons of rest.

HCG and ENERGY: As for energy? I have more than I've had in years.

Before the hcg diet, I exercised every other day at least if not more for years. My weight never changed. My body toned, yes. But the number never changed within 3 or 4 pounds.

I figure it's my age, along with some other factors in my life.I have several chronic stomach problems that interfere with digestion of nutrients. (Long story; that's the short of it)

Anyway, so far so good....I'll do my best to get more organized here to help those thinking about doing the HCG diet. I'm still adjusting but it's not been hard. I was determined to change things in my life and I think that determination has driven me thus far. And? My health is improving. I can't ask for more.

HCG Diet; Phase two: Beginning of week Two: My Journey

Ok, another lesson learned on the HCG Diet. Do not eat out. Or if I do, only get a house salad. Weight is the same today at 159.8. I had a grilled chicken salad last night with no dressing from a local restaurant and it made me feel sick. I'm assuming it was 'how' it was cooked. It tasted really greasy to me. I didn't eat much of the chicken but it was enough to stall things a bit.

Note to self: Next time get a house salad and add my own chicken. (Grilled with Pam Spray)

Still happy with this journey so far. Just blogging it out as I go. Down 12.2 pounds in eight days. I'll take it.

More to come. I'll add my hcg phase 2 menu and more soon. Still seeing what works best for me. So far, adding spinach or asparagus is making a difference in loss.

First week of HCG Diet:

Today marks one week exactly since I started the hcg diet. My weight was down to 159.8. Starting weight was 172. No complaints here.

No hunger.....I did make a mistake doing an extreme exercise class yesterday and my muscles started cramping about 20 minutes into it. Lesson learned. No strenuous exercise for Phase 2.

When I start a diet, I always go looking to see how others have done on the same diet. That's one of the reasons for this blog. Starting it as I started the diet will help others see how things progressed or didn't progress as I go. The other reason is for my own sanity. Keeping up with it here helps in some odd way.

Now, I need to go find an online weight tracker to add to my posts.

HCG Diet: My Journey--Phase 2: Day 6 and Recommended Books

And now, I'm back on target for posting the same day.

I'm on the sixth day of Phase 2. Weight today was 161.4. Starting weight 172. Yesterday's weight was 162.2. I didn't eat spinach or asparagus yesterday. I'm wondering if that's making such a huge difference on the scales. (averaged two pounds a day for the first 5 days....not complaining, just observing)

I will add spinach again today and see if that makes a difference.

I'm following a combination of two hcg diets......
The Original HCG Diet by Dr. Simeons----Pounds & Inches: A New Approach To Obesity

And....

I love the updated version. It brings into things that are available today that Dr. Simeons didn't know about in the 1950's.

I would advise anyone going on the HCG diet to research and read everything you can before going on the diet. The more you know, the better you will do.

HCG Diet: My Journey---Phase 2; Day Five

Doing some catching up here. I need to post daily, but the recent death in our family has slowed things down. That was the bad news I mentioned earlier.

Weight down to 162.2 today....for another good loss. (Starting weight was 172)

More to come. Short posts for now.

HCG Diet: Phase 2: Day Four

Weight this morning is down another two pounds at 164. Ate much better today. Not sure why this HCG is working so well, but I'll keep plugging away with it. I don't feel hungry, have plenty of energy. Actually I feel better than I have in years.

You'll find out as I do, if this weight stays off........more to come.

HCG Diet Phase 2: Day Three

First, Today's not your ordinary day. We had some extremely bad news (death in the family) today so our eating schedule was completely out of order. Today was supposed to be my first VLCD. And it was. All things considered, I did the best I could.

I didn't get near enough calories but ...my hcg menu for today was:

Lunch:
Radishes
Cucumbers
Apple

Snack:
Apple

Dinner:
Chicken
Asparagus
Strawberries

Weight down again---down to 166.

Very bad news today. Eating was the last thing on our mind. Hoping tomorrow will be a bit easier.
